Gernot Rohr, the head coach of the Nigerian national football team, has been fired, according to NewsDirect.
TGM has learned that the German was fired despite his squad qualifying for the 2022 World Cup play-offs in Africa.

Despite being defeated to a 1-1 draw by Cape Verde in Lagos on Tuesday, the Super Eagles finished first in Group C.
In August 2016, Rohr was named head coach of the Super Eagles, and he guided them to a third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The media and supporters have slammed Germany’s conservative attitude and the Super Eagles’ lackluster performances.
