Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has charged his new Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie and other appointees against using their positions to antagonize anyone in their localities.

The charge came after swearing-in the former lawmaker as his Chief of Staff and five others as Special Advisers at the Executive Council Chambers on Monday.

All the six appointees were active supporters of Governor Fubara in the wake of the political crisis in the state, but the governor urged them to set aside partisanship and contribute to the growth of the state.

He said the battles that were won was made possible through the divine help of God.

He said his administration has surrendered the political situation in the state to God with a strong belief that God will resolve whatever issue that is left in a manner that will prove His supremacy.

The swearing in ceremony was attended by cabinet members, including those that were re-appointed last week.

Addressing the cabinet members, Governor Fubara directed the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo to reassign the re-appointed commissioners to their previous portfolios.

He, however, instructed that the portfolios be reassigned to those that were present at the swearing in ceremony today.

Eight out of the nine reappointed commissioners were present.

The only absentee was the former Commissioner for Special Projects, Emeka Woke, who was also the Chief of Staff when the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike served as governor for 8 years.

Governor Fubara tasked the reappointed Commissioners not to resume their offices with the intention to destroy his administration.

He challenged them to do the things that their children will be proud of.

Outside the Executive Council Chambers, the new Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie stated his commitment to work for the actualization of vision of the Fubara-led administration.
