BREAKING: Court Dismisses FG’s Suit Seeking Abba Kyari’s Extradition To US

A lawsuit filed by the federal government to extradite suspended deputy commissioner of police DCP Abba Kyari to the United States of America was dismissed by Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The judge ruled on Monday that the federal government’s extradition request, made by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), was without basis and subject to rejection.

In order to facilitate Kyari’s extradition to America to respond to fraud allegations, the Federal Government filed the extradition charges against him.

However, Justice Ekwo ruled that because Abba Kyari was tried in Nigeria for the allegations made against him in America, the Federal Government lacks justification to make the extradition request.
