BREAKING: Buhari defends Pantami, says Kemi Adeosun’s crime was greater

President Muhammadu Buhari has defended Isa Pantami, minister of communications, over his alleged ties with terrorism.

The minister himself agreed that he had past relationship with some terrorists and gave extremists preaching some years back.

He had apologised and asked to be accepted as a new being.

Many Nigerians have continue to call for his resignation but Mr Buhari seems not to be moved by citizens agitations.

The president through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu on Thursday earlier defended Mr Pantami.

The action triggered controversy on social media.

Social media commentators said Mr Pantami should resign the way former minister, Kemi Adeosun did when she was busted for forging NYSC certificate.

Responding to this, Mr Buhari, through Mr Shehu spoke on Channels Television Politics Today programme on Friday evening.

He said that Mrs Adeosun’s crime was greater than Mr Pantami’s offenses.

He also said  “If people will be fair . . . Pantami has thrashed the Boko Haram ideology. We believe he has changed.

“We say we are religious people  . . .  all the scriptures say if you are a bad man today, you are welcome to become a good person.”
