BREAKING: Bomb Explosion Hits Kogi

Residents in Kabba, Kogi State, have been confused by an explosion.

The event is alleged to have occurred on Sunday evening near Mannajot Petrol Station, with an unknown number of persons presumed hurt.

The Islamic State-backed Boko Haram group, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd, was related to the bomb explosion, according to a security source.

In April, ISWAP claimed responsibility for a police station attack in the state’s Adavi Local Government Area.

Three police officers were killed in the attack, and the station and two vehicles were set on fire.

The latest development comes a few days after about three persons were confirmed dead and many others injured in an explosion that occurred in Kabba.

NEWS DIRECT had reported how military intelligence showed that ISWAP is moving towards the Southern part of Nigeria.
