Boko Haram Terrorists Trap ISWAP Fighters, Kill 50 In Borno

At least 50 Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) fighters were killed in an ambush by Boko Haram’s Jama’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihad faction in Borno State’s northwestern region of Lake Chad.

The most recent clash is part of a renewed fight for supremacy between the two deadly cults.

Since both factions split over leadership difficulties, the competing gangs have been targeting localities in the North-East.

Since then, there have been fights between the factions, with Abubakar Shekau, the head of Boko Haram, supposedly being killed in one of them in 2021.

According to sources, the latest incident occurred when Boko Haram fighters ambushed ISWAP fighters in the Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.

This allegedly resulted in a gunfight between the two parties.

ISWAP fighters were claimed to have been overcome by Boko Haram fighters led by Mohammed Ari, who killed roughly 50 of them.

Their remains were also shown being killed and dumped inside makeshift cemeteries around the Lake Chad axis in a viral video.

Inside their weapons trucks, some ISWAP rebels were also set on fire.
