Aviation Workers Protest In Lagos, Nationwide [PHOTOS]

Aviation workers protested yesterday in Lagos, just as their counterparts are protesting across the nation.

According to earlier reports, the unions in the aviation industry had instructed their members to hold peaceful rallies and public demonstrations on Monday at all airports in Nigeria to demand the removal of objectionable essential service clauses from the bills and acts governing the aviation agencies.

The workers marched through the streets of Lagos while carrying banners and placards bearing various messages and humming songs of solidarity.

The nationwide protest is convened under the banners of the National Union of Air Transport Employees; Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria; Association of Nigerian Association Professionals; Amalgamated Unions of Public Corporations; Civil Service Technical & Recreational Services Employees; and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers.
