Atiku’s Lawyer Reacts Angrily To Supreme Court Judgment That Favours Tinubu (VIDEO)
Following the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Bola Tinubu’s election victory, Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and one of the lawyers representing the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, shared his perspective on the ruling.
In response to the unanimous verdict delivered by Justice Inyang Okoro, who stated that Atiku’s appeal lacked merit, the visibly angry Ozekhome remarked, “Nigeria is a work in progress.” He made this comment while speaking with reporters after the judgment within the premises of the Supreme Court in Abuja.
The Supreme Court had, on Thursday, dismissed the appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, against President Tinubu’s election victory, affirming the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
After the ruling, many people reacted differently to the judgment that upheld Tinubu’s victory. Some agreed with the decision while many others expressed reservations, especially the manner all the issues were dismissed with a number of them based on technicalities or time lapse rather than actual merit or demerit of the issues raised.
