APC Party Congress Crisis: Kogi Council Chairman Brutalises Rival’s Supporter, Victim Suffers Partial Stroke

After allegedly being thrashed by the Chairman of Kogi State’s Idah local government area, Alhaji Abu Odoma, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is currently paralyzed.

According to sources, during the recent APC Congress, Odoma threatened his rival’s followers and physically assaulted the dying man, along with others.

During the congress, sources reported the APC council chairman was flanked by thugs with lethal weapons.

The accused thugs allegedly attacked followers of Salisu Sani Ogu, a former commissioner for works in the state and another APC leader in the area.

Doctors are currently fighting to save the victim’s life in the hospital where he was sent for treatment, so it’s possible that he won’t survive his current suffering.

The council head was appointed as Idah’s caretaker chairman, but when it came time to vote, he allegedly took up weapons.

A source said, “Security agencies in the local government area where the chairman holds sway, and the state government have not taken any action against the unfortunate development.

“The unpopular local government boss has vowed to terminate any political gladiators and their supporters in the local government and coerce them into submission, for antagonising him or his council administration.

“His flair for political crises is legendary having embarked on a series of actions that destabilised the smooth administration of the local government.”

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello had sacked Hillary Amodu as the Administrator of Idah Local Government Area in December 2019 and appointed Odoma.

Odoma, until this appointment as local council chairman was Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Affairs (Idah Federal Constituency).
