APC To Unveil Shettima As Tinubu’s Running Mate On Wednesday

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it will formally introduce Kashim Shettima, the former governor of Borno state, as Bola Tinubu’s running partner on Wednesday.

The party’s national organizing secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, announced the event’s location and start time in a notice on Tuesday. It will take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center in the federal capital territory (FCT) at 11:00 am.

Argungu invited people to the “landmark unveiling ceremony,” including members of the federal executive council (FEC), the national executive committee (NEC), and the diplomatic corps.

“All members of the national executive committee (NEC), Members of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, members of APC caucus in the national assembly, members of the federal executive council (FEC), members of the diplomatic corps, presidential aspirants at the June 2022 special national convention, APC State chairmen, APC state secretaries and APC state organising secretaries, are, hereby, invited to witness this landmark official unveiling of our great party’s vice-presidential candidate,” the notice by the secretary read.

Tinubu’s choice of running mate elicited widespread criticisms because both men are Muslims.
