APC Chieftain Calls For Resignation Of Minister Pantami

Cletus Obun, a senior member of the All Progressive Congress, has weighed in on the urgent issue of national security, calling for Nigeria’s Minister of Information and the Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, to resign.

Mr Pantami should be fired if he refuses to resign in light of the allegations made about him, according to Mr Obun, who spoke on AIT Monday morning.

“Pantami should resign, if he does not, you sack him! Not to give the impression that you tolerate and endure (audio distorts) to give the government a bad name.”

Mr Obon makes the case by citing the resignation of former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun, who resigned due to forged NYSC exemption certificates.

Mr Obun’s petition for Mr Pantami’s dismissal comes a day after the People’s Democratic Party requested his dismissal.

Mr Pantami, who is in charge of Nigeria’s information technology, is facing calls for his resignation after videos emerged online showing him supporting terrorists and extremist views.

Mr Pantami has apologised for his remarks in the period since the videos went viral on social media, claiming that his lessons over the years were based on peace and tolerance.
