Anambra Election: Gov Ortom Reacts To Soludo’s Victory

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has congratulated Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, on his victory at the November 6, 2021, Anambra State governorship election.

Ortom’s congratulations greeting was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur.

The governor described Prof Soludo’s victory as a true reflection of the wishes of the people of the state, rather than the machinations of some individuals or groups outside the state, according to the statement.

Governor Ortom complimented the tenacious tenacity of the Anambra people from the commencement of the campaign till the final pronouncement of the results to overcome intimidation, coercive threats of force and uphold their aspirations, and express their franchise by freely electing their choice.

He also praised the state’s security forces for maintaining law and order prior to, during, and after the elections, with no incidents of violence reported.

The Governor likewise complimented the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, noting that they also deserve recognition for the credible conduct of the polls without surrendering to external pressure to undermine the decision of the people of Anambra State.

He said that the outcome of the election in Anambra is a clue that democracy will flourish when all agencies and participants play according to the dictates of the process governing the democratic values.

Governor Ortom prayed that God would guide the next governor of Anambra State, allowing him to faithfully serve the people and realize his vision for the state.
