Antwerp midfielder Alhassan Yusuf has been included on Super Eagles provisional squad for next month’s 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire, officials disclosed.
The hard running midfielder shone in Tuesday night’s famous 3-2 UEFA Champions League win over Barcelona.
He assisted for his team’s second goal and clocked over 13 kilometres in 90 minutes he was on the pitch.
He has been tracked by Eagles coach Jose Peseiro for some time now.
Officials said the Super Eagles will open training camp for the AFCON on January 2 in Dubai.
Nigeria are drawn in Group A along with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau and Equatorial Guinea.
They open their campaign on January 14 against Equatorial Guinea.
