Aisha Yesufu Reveals Supreme Court Judgment That Robbed People Of The State
Renowned socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has strongly criticized the Supreme Court’s verdict which robbed the people of the state.
She specifically knocked the Apex Court’s judgment on the Nasarawa State governorship election.
The Supreme Court, on Friday, upheld the victory of Governor Sule Abdullahi in Nasarawa State, dismissing the petition brought against the election by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Emmanuel David Ombugadu.
The court based its decision on the lack of substantiated evidence for the allegations made against the election.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, delivering the lead and unanimous judgment, stated, “The petition of the PDP and Ombugadu cannot be attached with any probative value.”
In response, Aisha Yesufu characterized the ruling as a robbery, expressing her disappointment. On her social media platform, she declared, “Nasarawa people were robbed of their mandate. This is a coup on the people. They chose who they wanted and they were denied their mandate. It is another sad day for democracy in Nigeria.”
