Abuja Airport Road Blocked, Many Stranded As Truck Crushes Female Journalist To Death

The incident which occurred by 3pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, at around popular Aso Estate junction Lugbe, also caused high-traffic gridlock, making it difficult for commuters to make use of the road.

A female radio presenter, Deborah Ohamara, has been crushed to death inside a moving vehicle by a heavy duty truck loaded with sand, along airport road Lugbe, Abuja.

Details of the accident are still sketchy, however, it was gathered that the Ohamara, a staff of Naija Info FM, 95.1 Abuja, was driving from the airport axis when a vehicle hit her car from behind and she rammed into the moving truck.

One other person sustained mild injuries while the truck driver survived.

The incident which occurred by 3pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, at around popular Aso Estate junction Lugbe, also caused high traffic gridlock, making it difficult for commuters to make use of the road.

It was gathered that vehicles coming from both sides of the highway were stuck as a result of the blocked movement as personnel of both Federal Road Safety Corps, Police and FCTA’s traffic management department tried to evacuate the scene.

Late Ohamara, popularly known as the golden voice of Naija Info, due to her on-air appeal, was born in Cross River State.

She started her career as a newscaster with the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, CRBC TV as well as a presenter on 105.5 Paradise FM Calabar.
