Abducted Chibok Girls Still On Our Mind — Presidency

The government of President Muhammadu Buhari reassured parents of schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in 2014 at Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, that they are still on the government’s mind.

Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, said in a statement that the government is working to secure the schoolgirls’ release.

“No one here is giving up hope.

“Efforts to secure their release through multiple channels and security and intelligence agency activities are continuing on track.

“The military’s latest decisive push against terrorists gives hope that a breakthrough is possible and could happen soon.”

The Presidency, on the other hand, requested prayers, assistance, and understanding for the military as they carry out what it called “their historic mandate” to “quickly finish the insurgency war and liberate all civilians kept hostage.”
