9 Feared Killed As Bandits Attack Southern Kaduna Community

In an attack on the Makarau Jankasa hamlet in Kaduna State’s Zango Kataf local government area, suspected bandits killed nine people.

Natives have fled their houses to other towns as a result of the attack, according to Leadership’s report.

The raid came just 72 hours after a similar attack on the Warkan hamlet in the same local government region, in which nine people were killed and many others were injured, and the bandits set fire to 12 homes.

The attackers stormed the Makarau Jankasa neighborhood on Sunday around 5 p.m., according to a resident, Donald Bityong.

According to him, security officers arrived in the area after the offenders had already committed their crime and fled into the jungle.

Bityong urged federal and state governments, as well as security agencies, to do more to protect people and property.

“These attacks are too much for us to bear, no one is longer safe in our community. Nobody can go to his farm now,” he said.
