On Monday, comedienne Damilola Adekola, nicknamed Princess, told how she met embattled Nollywood star Olanrewaju Omiyinka, alias Baba Ijesha, in front of the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos.

Princess claims she met Baba Ijesha at a social occasion in 2008 and the two decided to collaborate on comedic sketches.

According to the Punch, the comedienne also said that Ijesha wooed her during their working relationship, but she denied his proposal.

According to the newspaper, Princess said she got close to the actor afterwards, especially after her marriage crashed around 2013.

The comedienne further claimed she invested in Baba Ijesha’s education and the actor visited her at home thereafter.

Baba Ijesha, actress Iyabo Ojo, amongst others were present in court as Princess further narrated the alleged child molestation case against the actor.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo is currently hearing from the defendant and the prosecutor.

Baba Ijesha had yet to speak as of the time of filing this report. He was represented by Babatunde Ogala, SAN, amongst others while the prosecutor, the Lagos State Government, was represented by Olayinka Adeyemi.

The actor was granted bail by the Lagos court on June 24, 2021.
