3 killed, scores abducted as Kidnappers returns to Kaduna-Abuja highway

Daredevil kidnappers have killed not less than 3 persons along the Kaduna – Abuja expressway on the outskirt of Kaduna the state capital.

They were also reported to have abducted at least 7 persons, including three final-year law students of the Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU) Zaria.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident took place at 6:30 pm on Tuesday evening not far from the Olam Factory on the outskirts of Kaduna metropolis.

The kidnappers were said to have stormed the road in a gangster manner at about 6:30 pm and opened fire on the oncoming vehicles forcing many of them to a halt.

Many who were coming behind had to make an emergency u-turn as the attackers had a field day Marching those in the vehicles into the bush.

A former Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo’s was also said to have ran into the kidnappers along the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

However, the security details of the former governor were able to disperse the kidnappers from the high way.

The convoy later cleared the way for other stranded motorists to continue their journey.

This is coming days after the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter raised the alarm that two persons who went to deliver the ransom for the release of two children of a Kaduna based Bishop have been abducted by the same kidnappers.

CAN Chairman, Rev. Joseph Hayab disclosed that the two were abducted by the kidnappers after collecting the undisclosed amount of ransom from them and still, the Bishops children were not released.

Hayab, had also disclosed that the Senior Pastor of the Nagarta Baptist Church, Makeri in Chikun Local Government Area of the state was still be held by his abductors, three weeks after abduction.
