2023: I’m Confident Of APC Presidential Ticket — Yahaya Bello Carpets Zoning

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State stated that he would win the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket in the 2023 elections.

Gov. Bello does not appear to agree with the APC’s planned zoning scheme.

Abdullahi Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa State, was voted as the APC’s National Chairman on Saturday.

Adamu is from the same geopolitical zone as Gov. Bello, according to the DAILY POST.

However, Bello, who stated that it makes no difference where the National Chairman originates from, promised that he would contest and win the party’s ticket despite the party’s zoning setup.

Bello stated on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday that he would win the ticket regardless of whether the party uses a consensus, direct, or indirect primary voting system.

He stated that the APC requires a dynamic, intelligent, and young candidate to fly the party’s flag, adding, “I am convinced that my party, the APC, will give me the opportunity to fly the party’s flag.”

As a candidate, Bello stated that he is not frightened of any primary system, claiming that the party would choose the best approach to elect a candidate who can establish bridges across the country.

“By the grace of God, after my emergence as the presidential candidate, every other zoning arrangement will sort itself out naturally, just like what you saw at the Eagle Square on Saturday.

“By the grace of God, we are going to pass through democratic process; consensus is part of it, voting is part of it, but I am confident that whichever way you go by, our party will come out the best by electing me as the flag bearer of the APC,” Bello insisted.
