2023 ELECTION: Court Sacks ADC Party National Chairman
A Federal High Court in Abuja has nullified the executive committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Chief Ralph Nwosu.
The judge, Justice Binta Nyako on Tuesday also affirmed the reliefs sought by the Senator Patricia Akwashiki-led group that the defendants did not dispute the claims of wanting to extend their tenure, and as such the claims were deemed admitted.
The court further held that the ADC was bound by its constitution and therefore, the actions taken by the defendants were unconstitutional, null and void, and of no legal effect whatsoever and ordered a special convention for the position of the national chairman and the members of the National Working Committee of the ADC.
Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the ADC, Dumebi Kachikwu, has applauded the Federal High Court decision removing the erstwhile chairman of the party, describing it as a Christmas gift to the entire ADC family.
