Terrorists are said to have killed at least 12 people in the areas surrounding the border town of Illela in Sokoto State’s Illela local government area.

According to residents, the terrorists assaulted the region with advanced weapons and engaged local vigilantes and other community members, according to TVC.

At least twelve people have been killed in seven separate villages in the Illela local government region, including Gatti, Mullela, Malali, Tarke, Koringo, Tudungudale, and Munwadata, according to one of them.

According to Muhammad Nuhu Illela, the local government area’s information officer, the attack has become a daily occurrence in the area.

He said that 12 people were killed in the current incident, and that several others were injured, and that the terrorists kidnapped an indeterminate number of others.

Solar, a suspected prominent bandit operating in Tureta and Dange/Shuni, has shifted to Illela and is causing havoc in the neighborhood, according to Illela.

Members of the community and local vigilantes, he claimed, have been mobilizing to fend off the attacks, particularly from suspected bandits who specialize in attacks in broad daylight.
