Yinka Odumakin: We will continue the battle you left behind – Ozekhome
A senior lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), has described the death of the late Afenifere spokesperson, Yinka Odumakin as unbelievable.
He said in a statement written on Sunday that he did not believe the news until he confirmed the sad passing from his wife.
He recalled his last conversation with the late Odumakin and how he had spoken about the marginalisation of other sectors of the country and the need not to give up on the good fight.
He said in his tribute that Odumakin was a proud Yoruba nationalist and a man of integrity, honour and dignity.
“A man who would be remembered for his fight for self identity and self determination. A man who inspired people in their thousands on the fight for a right course. A fearless and courageous man who would be remembered as a lion.”
He said the deceased has left behind a battalion of strugglers like himself who would keep the faith and fight for what’s true and noble, saying the battle for a better Nigeria is ‘no retreat, no surrender’.
