BREAKING: Gunmen Kidnap Islamiyya Students, Teacher In Katsina

Eight students from an Islamiyya school in Sakkai village, Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina State, have been kidnapped by gunmen suspected of being bandits.

One of their professors was also kidnapped, according to The PUNCH on Wednesday.

As of the time of reporting this article, the identity of the victims of the late Tuesday incident were unknown.

The gunmen arrived at the school on motorbikes just as the students were preparing to leave for the day, according to residents.

The gunmen allegedly began firing indiscriminately, causing a ruckus on the school grounds and in the surrounding towns.

A resident said, “The gunmen forced the teacher and the pupils on their motorcycles before they zoomed off towards the forest and since then, nobody has heard anything about them.”

During a visit by our journalist on Wednesday, there were no activity at the Islamiyya school.

It was also discovered that the gunman had made no contact with the school or the victims’ families.

SP Gambo Isah, the Katsina police spokesman, has yet to respond to a text message given to him.
