Watch As Angry Youths Take Over Armoured Tank (VIDEO)

A rampaging mob briefly seized an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) from security operatives deployed to manage the riot in Kaduna State on Monday.

The #EndBadGovernance protest, which began peacefully on Thursday, turned violent when suspected hoodlums hijacked it and began attacking innocent people.

Security operatives managed to restore order, but following President Bola Tinubu’s nationwide broadcast on Sunday, more protesters took to the streets on Monday. Some waved Russian flags and chanted anti-government slogans, expressing frustration with poor leadership.

In the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South Local Government, young men were seen riding an APC belonging to the Nigerian Police Force. They were spotted in front of Shema Filling Station along Chawai Road, waving to the cheering crowd as the siren blared.

A reliable police source, who requested anonymity, confirmed the APC belongs to the Mobile Police 1. The source noted that while the protesters did not gain entry into the APC, they mounted it while the policemen inside drove the vehicle to dismount them.

Mansur Hassan, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, confirmed that the APC had been safely returned. “The protesters did not take over our APC; they only mounted it. The policemen in the APC had to use tactical maneuvers to get the protesters off so that they would not damage it, and it was safely returned,” he said.
