27 Rivers Lawmakers Speak On Dumping APC, Returning To PDP After Dropping Fubara’s Impeachment

The 27 Rivers State Assembly lawmakers who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, have spoken on returning to their former party.

This development came after they dropped the impeachment move against the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, following a peace deal facilitated by President Bola Tinubu.

Mr. Enemi Alabo George, one of the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, emphasized that they have no intention of returning to the PDP.

In an interview on Channels TV, George, the chairman of the House Committee on Information, debunked insinuations that they were planning to return to PDP after the peace deal.

When asked about the issue, George firmly stated, “We have crossed that Rubicon. We are not going back there. No, we moved to the APC.”

He highlighted their support for President Buhari, saying, “We voted for Mr. President, and if we found the President worthy of our vote, then I think we should find him worthy of our support.”

George emphasized their commitment to the APC and collaboration with President Tinubu to fulfill the expectations of Nigerians, stating definitively, “We have moved to the APC, we are working with Mr. President, we have crossed that Rubicon, and there is no going back for us.”
