JUST IN: More Photos Emerge From Scenes Of NLC Nationwide Protest

Members of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, have began their protest in Abuja and other states of the federation.

The NLC declared an initial two-day protest that would last between Tuesday, February 27 and Wednesday, February 28, 2024. They are protesting against the federal government’s refusal to implement their demands as well as its lack of concrete actions to address the rising cost of living, biting hardship, and other challenges Nigerians are grappling with.

Despite the warnings from the Police and other security agencies, the NLC members defied all odds to hit the streets in protest. They also did not budge in spite of the alleged withdrawals from the protest by some affiliate unions.

The NLC leadership insists that they had the right to express their grievances including the right to a peaceful protest as guaranteed by both the labour laws and the Nigerian constitution.
