Tussle With Bayero: Victory For Sanusi As He Leads Prayer At Central Mosque As Emir Of Kano

Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has gained the edge in the tussle over who would lead prayer at Kano Central Mosque as Emir of Kano following the crisis generated by changes in the Kano Emirate.

During his sermon at the Kofar Kudu Central Mosque in Kano, Emir Sanusi, the Emir of Kano, emphasized that questioning God’s decisions is beyond human capacity.

“Those who truly believe that all comes from Allah must accept His will without question,” he stated, highlighting the importance of unwavering faith in Allah during both favorable and challenging times.

Sanusi’s sermon centered on the concept of embracing Allah’s decree wholeheartedly, without seeking explanations for His actions.

“We are reminded that true faith entails complete acceptance of Allah’s decree. Gratitude is essential in all circumstances, as everything that occurs is predetermined by God,” he explained, urging the congregation to observe supplications as the Zhul Hijja approaches.

Meanwhile, the Kano State Police Command dismissed rumors suggesting that Ado Bayero would lead Friday prayers at Kofar Kudu Central Mosque, where Emir Muhammadu Sanusi currently resides.

The conflicting claims to the throne between Sanusi and Ado Bayero have sparked confusion in the city. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had dethroned Ado Bayero, who later returned to the town under military protection and continued operating from the mini palace.

In response to the situation, Abdullahi Kiyawa, spokesperson of the Kano Police Command, assured the public of adequate security arrangements for both Alhaji Aminu Bayero and Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II to observe their Friday prayers.

“Residents are advised to disregard false reports circulating on social media and to carry on with their activities without fear,” Kiyawa affirmed, emphasizing the police’s commitment to ensuring peaceful congregational prayers amidst the ongoing emirate tussle.
