Prominent Oyo APC chieftain dies, senator mourns

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State is mourning the loss of a prominent member, Alhaji Raufu Salami, commonly known as Olowo Adekile, who passed away on Thursday.

Salami was a respected figure within the APC and a leader in Ibadan North East local government area in Oyo South Senatorial District.

The Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, expressed his sorrow at the news of Salami’s demise.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, Senator Alli praised Salami’s significant contributions to the party and lamented the void his death has created in the political scene.

The chairman of the Senate committee on Electoral Matters also lauded Salami’s leadership, commitment, and service to the community and local government area.

Senator Alli offered prayers for Salami’s soul to find peace in Al-Jannat Firdaus and for his family to have the strength to cope with the loss.
