Identities Of Officers, 4 Crew Members Killed Along With Chief Of Army Staff In Plane Crash Revealed

According to NEWS DIRECT, the military plane crash on Friday killed seven officers, including the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, as well as four crew members.

The identities of those on board the jet have also been revealed by SaharaReporters.

Along with the COAS, Lt Gen I Attahiru, BRIG GEN MI ABDULKADIR; BRIG GEN OLAYINKA; BRIG GEN KULIYA; MAJ LA HAYAT; MAJ HAMZA; SGT UMAR were said to be in his entourage.

The crew members were: FLT LT TO ASANIYI; FLT LT AA OLUFADE; SGT ADESINA; ACM OYEDEPO.

He was scheduled to attend the Nigerian Army Depot’s graduation ceremony in Zaria tomorrow (Saturday).

The Nigerian Air Force has announced that it has launched an investigation into the reason of the NAF plane crash that killed the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, his aides, and others on Friday.

Attahiru, who was only appointed alongside the other Service Chiefs on January 26, 2021, died in the crash on Friday en route to Kaduna State, along with 11 others.

Air Commodore Gabkwet Edward, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, revealed this in a release on Friday.

He said, “An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon.”
