BREAKING: One Dead, Three Wounded As Soldiers Quickly Pull Out Of Okuama

According to reports, one person has tragically lost his life, and three others have sustained injuries from machete wounds as the military withdrew from the embattled Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State amidst turmoil.

The incident follows the reported killing of soldiers on peace and rescue operations at Okuama on March 14, 2024, prompting the military to retaliate by burning down the community.

Sources from neighboring Akugbene and Okoloba communities in Bomadi local government area revealed that the soldiers left the embattled community abruptly on Tuesday, without prior notice.

A former chairman of Akugbene, speaking anonymously, stated, “We were surprised to see the soldiers pull out yesterday (Tuesday), and some Okuama natives immediately returned to the community.” He further explained the respite this brought but lamented an incident where three community members were ambushed and attacked with machetes while attempting to travel to Ezebiri community.
