BREAKING: Protest Breaks Out In Rivers Over Wike, Fubara Clash

A multitude of protesters, including students, youths, civil society organizations, labor unions, and members of the Hausa community, have gathered at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to express support for Governor Siminilayi Fubara amid the political crisis in the state.

The protest began early in the morning along Azikiwe Road, with demonstrators opposing an alleged presidential intervention in the state’s affairs. As of the latest report filing, the protesters remain assembled, setting up canopies at the entrance of the Government House.

The widespread unrest reflects a growing wave of discontent and disagreement over the reported involvement of President Bola Tinubu in the crisis.

Previously, Rivers elders had criticized the president for intervening in the situation, claiming that his resolution favored the Minister of FCT and former governor of the state, Nyesom Wike at the expense of the current Governor, Fubara.
