Ronaldo Blasts Ballon d’Or Editor Over Lionel Messi Claims, Shuns Ceremony

Manchester United player, Cristiano Ronaldo has accused France Football editor-in-chief, Pascal Ferre of lying about him wanting more Ballon d’Or awards than Lionel Messi.
France Football is the publication that gives out the prestigious individual football award.
The editor, Ferre in an interview with Marca said, “Ronaldo has only one ambition and that is to retire with more Ballon d’Or [awards] than Messi. I know because he has told me.”
Ronaldo dismissed the claims and alleged that Ferre was using him to promote his name and publication.

Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Lionel Messi, has won this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

Messi won the prize ahead of Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, who finished in second place.

The top five was completed by Jorginho (3rd, Chelsea), Karim Benzema (4th, Real Madrid) and N’Golo Kante (Chelsea).

Messi is now the player with the highest number of Ballon d’Or prizes, as this is his seventh.
