Suspected Bandits Kidnap Wife, Children Of Katsina Lawmaker, Kurami

Dr. Ibrahim Kurami, a lawmaker in the Katsina State House of Assembly who represents Bakori Constituency, had his wife and two children abducted by suspected bandits in the late hours of Saturday.

When the bandits who invaded the politician’s Kurami residence in Bakori Local Government Area discovered that the lawmaker was nowhere to be found, they settled for his wife and children, according to a trustworthy source.

According to the source, the bandits shot the security officers they encountered at the entrance before abducting the lawmaker’s family and transporting them to an unknown location. According to reports, the security guard is being treated in an unidentified hospital.

“On Saturday night, about 11 pm, many bandits entered our village, Kurami and threw people into commotion as they began to shoot their guns.

“The bandits entered the house of our lawmaker, Dr. Ibrahim Kurami, to kidnap him but when they could not find him, they took his wife and two children instead. They also shot the security guard at the gate and he is in the hospital receiving treatment,” the source said.

SP Gambo Isah, the State Police Public Relations Officer, could not be reached for comment on the attack at the time of reporting this story.

Effort to contact the lawmaker have also been fruitless, since he has not been reached on the phone since the APC local government congress on Saturday.
