SHOCKING: Nigerians React As Pornhub Choses University of Ibadan As Africa HQ
The University of Ibadan (UI) has been chosen as the African headquarters of Pornhub, a prominent adult website.
The company was reacting to a tweet from a Twitter user who wanted to know which Nigerian institution has the most website visitors.
Twitter announced on Monday that Ghana will be the first African country to host its headquarters, a move that has sparked outrage.
A user on Twitter had inquired as to which institution could be identified as Pornhub’s headquarters in Africa, amid the dust that had followed Twitter’s announcement.
The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), the University of Lagos (UNILAG), and the University of Ilorin were among the institutions he listed (UNILORIN).
The user had believed — without proof — that while he knew Nigerian account for majority of those visiting the adult website, the company should state which of the aforementioned institutions had the highest number of visitors.

“How far @Pornhub, when Una go do headquarters for Africa. We know it’s Nigeria but I’m not sure if it’s beside LAUTECH, UNILORIN or UNILAG . Reply abeg,” the user wrote in a mixture of English and Pidgin.

The adult website mentioned UI in a quick response to the post, including a logo of the institution in the comment section.
Many Nigerians have expressed their opinions on the matter since the revelation, which has caused tongues to wag.
Here’s what some people have to say about it:

The news comes only a few weeks after a report claimed that porn sites were advertising sexually abusive videos to newcomers. In its transparency article, Pornhub, on the other hand, dismissed the analysis.
