Senator Tambuwal Expresses Grief Over Jigawa Tanker Explosion, Calls for Improved Safety Measures

Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic petrol tanker explosion in Majiya, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, which claimed numerous lives and left several others critically injured.

In a statement shared by his media office on Friday, Tambuwal extended his heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Jigawa State.

“My heartfelt condolences to the government and the good people of Jigawa State over the tragic tanker explosion at Majiya, which has claimed many lives and left others in critical condition,” Tambuwal said. He described the incident as a painful reminder of the urgent need to prioritize safety in transportation across Nigeria.

Tambuwal also offered prayers for the victims, their families, and the affected communities, urging for the swift recovery of those still in hospital. “May Allah (SWT) grant the departed eternal peace and bring comfort to the grieving,” he added.

In his statement, Tambuwal called for immediate action to prevent similar tragedies in the future, advocating for a comprehensive review of how petroleum products are transported in the country. He emphasized the need for stronger safety regulations and enforcement to protect lives and property.

“Let us work together to ensure that no more lives are lost due to preventable accidents on our roads,” he urged.

The explosion in Majiya has sparked widespread mourning and renewed calls for better safety standards in Nigeria’s transportation sector.
