Rivers residents mobbed Wike upon his return from FCT
The former Governor of Rivers State received a warm welcome upon his return from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he now serves as a Minister.
The FCT Minister arrived in Rivers State on Saturday with his wife, Justice Suzzette Eberechi Nyesom Wike, at Rumuepirikom community in Obio Akpor LGA for the funeral service in honour of the late Hon Elder Samuel Rogers Ichenwo.
After the service, Wike visited the area and was mobbed by excited residents who cheered at the sight of him.
Security personnel accompanying Wike struggled to keep the crowd at bay.
Music playing in the background sang Wike’s praises as the former governor smiled with joy at the large crowd welcoming him back to his state.
Supporters of Wike took to social media to share videos of the Minister and the residents.
