Lagos FRSC Begins Investigation Of Stray Cow On Third Mainland Bridge

The validity of a recent popular social media video of a cow straying across Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge is being investigated.

Olusegun Ogungbemide, the FRSC Sector Commander in Lagos, said on Friday that the command had watched the viral video and denounced the incident.

A viral video of the huge ruminants walking across the nation’s busiest highway, impeding traffic flow, went viral. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, according to reports.

“I confirm that the command had carefully watched the viral video and condemned the incident.

“The command has, therefore, directed a full investigation into the authenticity of the viral video and the source of the cow to forestall future occurrence,” the sector commander of Lagos FRSC, Mr Ogungbemide, said.

He did, however, issue a directive to livestock owners to ensure that their animals were not providing distractions to motorists on the road throughout the state.

On the freeway, he also recommended drivers to be extra aware and cautious of avoidable and unexpected distractions.

Motorists should call the FRSC’s toll-free hotline 122 to report traffic crashes and other events, according to the road safety chief.
