Police Arrest Two As Hoodlums Unleash Terror On Osun Residents
Hoodlums have reportedly unleashed terror on some residents of the Gbaemu area of Osogbo, Osun State capital, in the early hours of Sunday.
It was gathered that the hoodlums who threw decorum into the wind, ordered workers working in a newly bought dilapidated building in the area to stop despite their explanation that, the new owner of the building commissioned them to pull it down for him to be able to erect a new structure on it.
A source said: “They were, however, forcibly stopped from working when the thugs who were armed with dangerous weapons infiltrated injuries on their bodies and beat silly out of them.”
According to him, “Some of them ran away in tears while onlookers and residents of the place scampered for safety before the intervention of the state police command who were first resisted violently by the evil perpetrators who tried to snatch weapons from their hands.”
It was further gleaned that, the evildoers engaged the policemen in a fierce battle as they were hell-bent on collecting money from the owner of the new building.
Seeing the untoward act of the hoodlums, the policemen said to have shot sporadically into the air and called for reinforcements before making an arrest of two of them who are now in the police net while others quickly disappeared.

The development, however, disturbed the free-flowing of both vehicular and human movements as many motorists and people coming towards the troubled place got the place deserted after information filtered into the town that, there was pandemonium in the area.
Many vehicle owners who were at the scene already, abandoned their vehicles and ran out of them to avoid being victims of circumstances.
When contacted, the state police command public relations officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, said she could not comment on it for now but a top officer told our reporter that, the arrested ones are now being quizzed by the police.
