FORGERY: Report Reveals Jonathan’s Govt Suspiciously Dropped Case Against Tinubu Over A Secret Deal
The administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan in January 2011 filed a legal suit against Bola Tinubu, alleging perjury related to his attendance at Government College, Ibadan, between 1962 and 1965, as stated in his INEC CF001 governorship form.
The lawsuit was filed in the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, accusing Tinubu of making false statements under oath. However, less than two weeks later, on January 25, 2011, the case was abruptly withdrawn by former Attorney-General of the Federation, Bello Adoke, who claimed he was refiling the charges in another court. This assertion turned out to be false, as no fresh charges were filed during Jonathan’s presidency, which ended on May 29, 2015.
Details of the case and its withdrawal came to light, raising questions about the motivations behind these legal maneuvers. It was suggested that Tinubu might have made a deal to endorse Jonathan’s candidacy in the 2011 presidential election to avoid potential jail time, a move that could have jeopardized his political future. Despite being longtime political rivals, Tinubu unexpectedly supported Jonathan’s presidential bid in 2011, deviating from his own party’s candidate, Nuhu Ribadu.
