Panic Grips Residents As Armed Cultists Storm Venue, Gun Down Notorious Cult Leader
Anxiety grips several areas of Abeokuta, Ogun State, following the tragic killing of Olumide Ifeoluwa, an alleged cult leader and well-known figure in the community.
Ifeoluwa, widely recognized as Tescom, was fatally shot by suspected members of the eiye cult group in the Ijeun Titun area of Abeokuta on Sunday, sparking renewed tension in the ongoing supremacy battles among various cult factions in the state.
Residents of Ijeun Titun and neighboring communities now live in fear of potential reprisal attacks following Ifeoluwa’s murder. Witnesses recounted how a group of armed cultists, riding in an unmarked Toyota Corolla, stormed the area, indiscriminately firing gunshots before targeting their victim.
A chilling image circulating on social media depicts Ifeoluwa’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood, his head grievously injured.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a resident narrated, “Some individuals arrived in the community in a Toyota Corolla and ambushed the victim while he was breaking his fast with friends. The incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tension has gripped the community, prompting many residents to flee in anticipation of retaliatory violence.”
Expressing concerns about potential escalation, another source remarked, “There is likely to be significant unrest in Abeokuta and surrounding areas because the deceased was a prominent member of the aye cult group and a well-known political thug. Expect reprisal attacks from his associates. However, we are urging the police to enhance security in Abeokuta and its environs.”
