How Boko Haram, Bandits Bombed Abuja-Kaduna Train Despite Intel Before Attack

According to information, Nigerian officials were aware of the recent attack on the Abuja-Kaduna rail route.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the train was bombed with the goal of kidnapping passengers.

The raid was carried out by Boko Haram and bandits as a coordinated operation in the North-West, confirming their partnership.

The observation of classified messages between a notorious bandit, Baffa, and his ally, Bala, has been reported by Eons Intelligence.

A document headed “PLANNED ATTACK ON TRAIN AROUND RIJANA, KADUNA STATE” was given to various government authorities on October 19, 2021.

It detailed how the Darussalam, an Arabic code word for Boko Haram, planned and carried out the mission.

Darussalam and bandits commanded by “Danlami and Lawan” were planning to detonate a bomb on the train, according to Baffa, whose communication was intercepted.

Baffa claimed he declined to take part in the operation because it was “risky,” but he believes the two will succeed.

Following the attack on Wednesday, the terrorists returned the next morning to bury an IED (IED).

The bomb went off, but the train continued on to Rigasa, covering another 7 kilometers.

Outlaws in control of regions in the North-West states have a plan to hijack it, seize civilians, and transport them to the wilderness.

The attack was blamed on “hoodlums” by the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC). Fidet Okhiria, the company’s managing director, described the incident as vandalism.

On Friday, Mohammed Jalige, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, told DAILY POST that he couldn’t comment because the railway isn’t under the command’s scrutiny.

Only the Force Headquarters, according to CP Oyediran Oyeyemi of the Nigerian Railway Command, could talk.

The operations on the Abuja-Kaduna route have been halted, bringing the threat of non-state armed groups disrupting train services closer to reality.

Bandits were being trained by Boko Haram and the Islamic State’s West Africa Province, security authorities were warned in July (ISWAP).

Several bandits flew from Zamfara State to attend drills at terrorist hideouts in Borno State, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) discovered.

ACG Usman Auna signed a document headed “Movement of Armed Bandits from Zamfara to Borno for Intensive Boko Haram Training.”

The information, codenamed NIS/HQ/CGI/943, told immigration officers to step up their surveillance.
