Oshiomhole Finally Mentions The Names Of Top Politicians That Brought Him Down
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has disclosed details of a plot orchestrated against him by top politcians.
According to the former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the plot was carried out by former Governors Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, and Salihu Lukman, a former national vice chairman, North-west, to remove him from his position as the party’s chairman.
Oshiomhole revealed these insights at the launch of Salihu Lukman’s book, “APC and Transition Politics,” held in Abuja.
During his speech, Oshiomhole outlined the alleged campaign led by Lukman and some governors within the ruling party to oust him, emphasizing the use of various illicit methods to achieve his “illegal” removal. He accused Lukman of writing multiple letters criticizing his leadership without engaging in direct communication.
“Lukman wrote several letters, dismissing my leadership without calling me. When you ride on the back of a tiger, there is only one destination,” Oshiomhole remarked, shedding light on the contentious relationship between him and the governors.
According to Oshiomhole, Lukman’s appointment as the APC governors’ forum DG was undemocratic, and he wasn’t consulted despite being a governor himself. Recounting a specific incident, Oshiomhole described Lukman’s indifference to the unusual circumstance of holding a meeting at Imo House rather than the APC office.

“It felt as though I was in a military barrack,” Oshiomhole noted, describing the tense atmosphere during the meeting with the governors. In response to the governors’ criticisms, Oshiomhole asserted his experience, stating, “None of you can lecture me about the power of a governor. Because I have been governor twice. Eight years uninterrupted.”
He further addressed Fayemi directly, saying, “At a point, I told Fayemi, ‘You did a resit. You were elected and by the second term, you lost. That means you failed.’ I did not do a resit, and you are lecturing me about power. I can mention some of them. The man in Ogun State, he told me if not for the president, he would have left the party. Some of them told me ‘You are working for your paymaster in Lagos. Your paymaster in Bourdillon.'”
