Ondo Election: APC Makes Big Offers To Opponents, Paves Way For Gov Aiyedatiwa
The National Leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has stepped in to pave the way for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa amid the raging crisis rocking the party prompting calls for the cancellation of the primary election held in Ondo State.
The APC has offered to ensure an inclusive government in Ondo State as a resolution to the post-primary crisis, as revealed in a reconciliation meeting held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
According to sources, the National Working Committee (NWC) initiated terms of reconciliation, including the reconstitution of the State Executive Council and the appointment of local government caretaker committees to represent diverse interests.
During the meeting, the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, encouraged aspirants who lost in the governorship primary election to collaborate with Governor Aiyedatiwa to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming November poll.
Despite appeals from two former aspirants, the NWC ruled out the cancellation of the primary election. Aiyedatiwa and 14 other aspirants attended the reconciliation meeting, including Chief Olusola Oke (SAN), Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, Wale Akinterinwa, Prof Francis Faduyile; Dr. Funmi Waheed-Adekojo; Dr. Soji Ehinlanwo; Samuel Akinfolarin; Okunjimi Odimayo; Olugbenga Edema; Gen. Olamide Ohunyeye; Morayo Lebi; Garvey Iyantan; Ifeoluwa Oyedele and Judith Omogoroye.
The NWC proposed an all-inclusive government, emphasizing the need for diverse representation. Ganduje urged aspirants to put aside grievances and focus on the party’s victory in the election.

Addressing the aspirants, Ganduje urged them to remain hopeful of future opportunities. He emphasized the importance of unity within the party for success in Ondo State.
Confirming the proposals, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, stated that the party aimed to foster unity among aspirants and create an inclusive government in Ondo State.
The chairman of the party in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, affirmed the commitment to reaching out to all aspirants and ensuring party unity ahead of the November election.
