Ogun: Abiodun, Alake Others Dragged To Court Over Ilupeju Oke-Odo Stool
The family of Oluseye, Ilupeju Oke-Odo Gbagura, has dragged Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egba, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Saburee Bakre, to court.
The Attorney General of Ogun, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the State Executive Council, the Egba Traditional Council, and Saheed Balogun Agbaje are among the five people the Oluseyes have taken to court.
They asked the State High Court to overturn Agbaje’s election as the new Olu of Ilupeju Oke-Odo.
In a writ of summons dated October 8, the claimants, Prince Monsuru Akanbi Oluseye, Prince Sulaimon Allan Oluseye, and Prince Gbolahan Babatunde Oluseye, also asked the court to throw aside the Olu of Ilupeju Oke-chieftaincy Odo’s declaration.
Their request is that the court overturn Agbaje’s nomination, appointment, and approval as the Oba of Ilupeju Oke-Odo.
Balogun’s nomination as the town’s new Oba was “contrary to the norms and traditions of Ilupeju Oke Odo, Gbagura,” they claimed.
