BREAKING: Cubana Chief Priest, EFCC Agree To Settle Case Out Of Court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and celebrity barman, Cubana Chief Priest, have reached an agreement to resolve the naira abuse case outside of court.

Cubana Chief Priest was facing charges of naira abuse brought against him by the EFCC. However, the socialite was granted bail in the sum of ₦10 million.

The anti-graft agency had earlier charged a controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky to court for Naira abuse. In that case, Bobrisky pleaded guilty and was later sentenced to 6 months jail term with no option of fine.

The issue of EFCC arresting and prosecuting Naira abusers has been generating mixed reactions from Nigerians with some people claiming that the commission lacks the power to do so. Also, while some people say that Naira abusers are not the problem of Nigeria but looters occupying top offices, others claim that EFCC was chasing shadows and oppressing less powerful Nigerians.
