Kano Gov Gives Appointments To Man Who Trolled VP Shettima, Another Who Threatened Judges

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has reappointed Yusuf Imam to his former position as Special Adviser for Youth and Sport.

That was the same post from which Imam was dismissed for derogatory remarks aimed at Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Imam, along with the commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Adamu Aliyu, was sacked last September for making inappropriate statements and issuing death threats to judges of the state’s governorship electoral petition tribunal.

Halilu Dantiye, the government’s spokesperson, stated during their removal that their statements did not reflect the official stance of Governor Yusuf’s administration.

Explaining the decision, Dantiye said, “While the Special Adviser on Youth and Sport, Alhaji Yusuf Imam making unguarded and disrespectful statements on His Excellency Alhaji Kashim Shettima GCON the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Premium Times reported that after eight months, both individuals have been reinstated, with Aliyu’s reinstatement occurring in March and Imam’s in April.

Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, confirmed Imam’s reappointment on Tuesday, along with the appointment of additional special advisers and heads of government agencies.

Among the appointees are Ibrahim Barde, appointed as Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Abdulhamid Danladi as Special Adviser on Diaspora, and Bello Kiru as Special Adviser on Water Resources.

Furthermore, Nura Shanono was reassigned from Special Adviser Water Resources to Managing Director of Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA), while Baba Umar transitioned from Special Adviser to the Executive Secretary of the Private and Voluntary Institutions Management Board.

Additionally, Nasir Muhammad was appointed Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Aminu Bako as Deputy Managing Director of the Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA), and Mukhtar Yusuf as Deputy Managing Director of the Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA).
