JUST IN: Top Politician Rumoured To Have Been Murdered By Kidnapers Comes Out Unhurt (PHOTO)

Former House of Representatives member Joan Onyemaechi has been freed from captivity, according to the Delta State Police Command.

Days ago, Onyemaechi was rumoured to have been murdered by her abductors. Later, the police refuted the report of her killing but her whereabouts had remained unknown as the kidnappers made huge demands.

However, the police confirmed her release on Saturday. The Command’s spokesman, Bright Edafe, stated that Onyemaechi was released on Friday night.

Edafe did not provide details on whether a ransom was paid to secure her release, noting that further information would be communicated later.

Onyemaechi, who has also served in the Delta State House of Assembly and was the immediate past Commissioner for Technical Education in the state, was abducted on July 30 from her church premises along DBS Road in Asaba, the Delta State capital. The attack resulted in the deaths of a police aide and one other individual.
