JUST IN: Prime Minister Of Chad Resigns After Election

Chadian Prime Minister Succes Masra announced on Wednesday his resignation.

His immediate resignation following his defeat to junta chief Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno in the presidential elections just over two weeks ago.

“I’ve just submitted my resignation and that of the transition government, which became irrelevant with the end of the presidential election,” Masra affirmed in a statement posted on his Facebook page, authenticated by his team to AFP.

Masra did not provide more detail concerning his resignation or his next line of action politically. However, having lost the election, he might have decided to step aside to allow the new President and his camp run the affairs of the nation.
