A yet to be ascertained number of police officers have been arrested in Rivers for abducting a staff of a hotel and demanding for N1 million ransom to free him.
The victim of the abduction, a staff of a hotel was arrested in Port Harcourt on his way to work at about 8 pm on Friday by the rogue police officers.
It was gathered from impeccable sources close to the Rivers Command that the criminally minded police officers intercepted their victim on his way to work, searched his body and found nothing incriminating on him.

Not satisfied, the police officers also opened his phone and found nothing there.
However, the source said while scrolling through the phone, the Police officers discovered where the young man is working and immediately kidnapped him.
They subsequently forced him to call members of his family to pay one million naira ransom as bail for his release from their custody.
They had allegedly threatened the young man that they would ‘waste’ him like they had done to some others victims who refused to cooperate with them in the past and throw his body into into the Choba River and tag him a kidnapper.
It was learnt that the police officers tied the young man inside their vehicle and were patrolling with him until they finally took him to a bush somewhere in Aluu in Ikwerre local Government Area of the state.

According to the source; “He was compelled to call his boss, the owner of thebhotel in Choba at gunpoint. When his boss was called, he smartly contacted a certain DPO who pretended to be his father.
“The rogue officers unknowingly started negotiating the ransom money with the DPO(names withheld) through the boy’s phone thinking he was the victim’s father.”
Our Correspondent reports that at about 1am on Saturday morning, the DPO who pretended to be the young man’s father took his men and met them at Aluu in the bush where the Police officers kept the young man expecting to receive the ransom money.
They were immediately disarmed and arrested by the DPO. Shockingly, they came from a Police formation in Port Harcourt town in Borokiri axis.
The mother of the kidnap victim also confirmed that the rogue police men who abducted his son were detained by the DPO at wee hours Saturday.
At time of filing this report, more details about the incident is still unfolding and the Rivers Police Command was yet to make the story public.
The abduction of the young man for N1m ransom happened barely 24 hours after CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu advised members of the public to video Policemen on duty surfaced online.
He also asked policemen not to be shy or angry but to wear smiles while being recorded on video.
